Another Toyota key programming job was successfully completed by our mobile car key locksmith team. This time, we worked with a 2021 Toyota RAV4 equipped with Push Button Start and Smart Key technology.
The customer contacted us to add a second key to the vehicle. Having a spare key is especially important with modern Toyota vehicles because losing the last working Smart Key can turn a routine key duplication into a much more complicated All Keys Lost situation.
A Push Button Start system is not simply a conventional key with a different design. The vehicle uses electronic communication between the Smart Key, immobilizer system and vehicle control modules to authorize starting. The key must be correctly registered to the vehicle and its functions need to be verified after programming.
Our Toyota locksmith in Surrey BC prepared and programmed the additional Smart Key for the RAV4. After programming, the key was tested to confirm that the vehicle recognized it correctly and that the Push Button Start and keyless functions were operating as expected.
The job was completed on site, without the customer having to take the vehicle to a dealership.
