A client from the Surrey / Vancouver BC area contacted us requesting activation of the Traffic Sign Recognition Assistant on a 2024 Audi RS Q8. The feature was present in the vehicle’s system but not activated from factory.
Before starting the work, we performed full diagnostics and analyzed the vehicle configuration. This generation of Audi vehicles is protected by the SFD2 security system, which restricts access to control unit coding. To ensure proper activation and maintain factory warranty, we used dealer-level online equipment and official coding procedures.
After correct flashing and parameterization, the Traffic Sign Recognition system was activated and displayed on the HUD (Head-Up Display). The system now accurately detects speed limits, road signs, and traffic lights with countdown timers.
During the process, we also found inactive Adaptive Cruise Control assistants:
Overtaking Right Prevention — prevents unsafe overtaking on the right by limiting acceleration when traffic conditions are not safe. This feature is especially useful on highways around Vancouver and Surrey.
Overtaking Assistance — supports overtaking maneuvers by analyzing speed, traffic distance, and road conditions, improving safety and driving confidence.
Both systems were activated and fully configured. Additional hidden features were enabled per customer request.
After completion, we carried out system testing and software updates. All functions operate correctly, no fault codes are present, and settings remain saved after future dealer updates. The client was fully satisfied with the result.
